High-quality, fresh ingredients in a beautiful arrangement without compromising on flavor. This is a pizza I will be thinking about for a long time…

There are a lot of sayings about pizza, most of them revolving around the fact that even a bad pizza can still be enjoyed. But what are the sayings about good pizza? What separates a good pizza from the crowd?

There are fresh ingredients, cheese consistency, crust texture, and other qualifying factors, of course, but often times, there are other instances where a pizza has a certain feel to it that you would only know by trying it yourself!

After dining at the Pomodoro E Mozzarella Pizzeria in St. Charles, IL, I can now say for certain that their pizzas possess that difficult-to-imitate, special quality. Located off of W Main Street near the intersection with S Randall Road, this small restaurant packs quite a punch!

Pomodoro E Mozzarella Pizzeria Review

Though the pizzeria is quite small in size — there are maybe 3 tables in-restaurant, we recommend you order for pick-up — they still offer a wide range of options on their menu, emphasizing ingredient pairings and custom pizzas alike. The ingredients are fresh, and you are even able to find some quite uncommon toppings on the menu, such as eggplant, artichoke hearts, smoked salmon, prosciutto, and more.

As such, the menu can be a tad intimidating, but the prices are friendly enough that being a little adventurous with your samplings isn’t so cost adverse.

The pizza’s cheese is next-level and may cause you to reconsider what you think you know about pizza. Seriously. It’s that good. It is flavorful and refreshing, thankfully lacking the taste of grease that some other pizzas can have, and it practically melts in your mouth.

For this review, we ordered the Margherita Pizza, consisting of rich tomato, basil, and mozzarella. When the pizza arrived, it was much larger than expected, which ended up being a good thing once we tasted it; it didn’t last long. The pizza arrived warm and welcoming. Take a look below.

The crust was crunchy, but not too tough to bite through, and was slightly airy in the middle. As a result, it wasn’t too heavy on the carbohydrates, and the pizza didn’t leave us as full/bloated as many other pizzas.

The tomato sauce was tangy and sweet, and the basil added a nice element of peppery earthiness to the dish. Often times, the sauce can make or break a pizza, but this sauce was excellent and certainly did not disappoint.

The ingredients were very consistently spread throughout, and the slices were cut neatly. No one had to fight over the biggest piece or the piece with the most toppings, and everyone left feeling satisfied.

I know I will be craving this pizza for a long time, and I am eagerly planning my next visit!

★★★★★ 5/5 - Outstanding!

Every element was fantastic, from the menu, prices, and ingredients to the pizza itself, thoroughly impressing my party of four. High-quality, fresh ingredients were placed in a beautiful arrangement on our Margherita Pizza without compromising on flavor.

We will definitely be back!
